Hyderabad: For the last few days, everybody is talking, both on record and off record, that Goldstone Infra director P S Prasad is the mastermind behind the Miyapur land scam.

But, to the utter shock of everyone, Medchal district registrar N Saidi Reddy did not name Prasad as an accused. Instead, his wife and daughter-in-law were named as accused.

Police officials maintain that the complainant specifically named eleven persons as accused in the written report. Based on the complaint, case has been registered and investigations launched. If Prasad’s name is found in the investigation, a decision would be taken whether to include his name as accused after considering the evidence.

However, sources in the police department said that the Stamps and Registration department officials played mischief by not including Prasad’s name as accused. This gives him an edge in claiming before the court that his name was not mentioned in the FIR but subsequently added at the behest of vested interests.

Sources also said that it has been the practice of Prasad to play the game very safe by getting the government lands registered in the name of trusted people while being in the safe zone.

Meanwhile, sources said eight police teams were at work to nab absconding accused. Also, process has been completed for the issue of red corner notice. However, the investigators are finding it helpless in issuing red corner notice against Prasad in this case since he has not been named as accused.

Unless the investigators get custody of the arrested accused Rachakonda Srinivasa Rao, P S Parthasarathy and PVS Sharma and they disclose information about the involvement of Prasad, it would be difficult for the investigators to lay their hands on the alleged mastermind, sources said.
