GHMC striving to make Hyd a world-class city: Mayor
City Mayor Bonthu Rammohan said due to the strenuous efforts of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) consisting elected representatives and officials for the past three years, the city has been developed on all fronts in conformity with the vision of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao under the dynamic leadership of Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K Taraka
Hyderabad: City Mayor Bonthu Rammohan said due to the strenuous efforts of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) consisting elected representatives and officials for the past three years, the city has been developed on all fronts in conformity with the vision of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao under the dynamic leadership of Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K Taraka Rama Rao.
The Mayor hoisted the national flag at GHMC Head Office in connection with Telangana Formation Day on Friday where his deputy Baba Fasiuddin, Commissioner Dr B. Janardhan Reddy and senior officials and staff were present.
Rammohan said the GHMC could reach top position in Swachh Bharat Mission and today the GHMC is adjudged as the fifth city in the world which was developing very fast in all fields with rapid growth. He said the GHMC has been striving to make the city pollution-free and with full of greenery. It is planning to plant around one crore saplings during Haritha Haram programme this year.
The Mayor said the GHMC has also taken up various innovative schemes like double bed room houses, SRDP Projects, beautification of lakes and so on. The GHMC is a nodal agency which is coordinating with the heads of various departments and conducting convergence meetings under one platform deriving good results in development aspects using modern technology to make the City to that of world class, he said.
Addressing the gathering, GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy exhorted GHMC officials to work hard with responsibility and make Swachh Hyderabad a grand success so that the city could attract more tourists.
Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin said State Formation Day is celebrated due to sacrifices made by many leaders and those who have sacrificed their lives for achievement of separate State.
