New Delhi: Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari, here on Tuesday, said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was contemplating appointing a committee to oversee promotions to the teachers following the Gazette Order on unified service rules.
The Chief Minister was of the opinion that there should be no legal hassle once the promotions were awarded, he told the media. Srihari was here to attend the CBSE meet. The Deputy Chief Minister, who met Union Minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday thanked him for his intervention in getting unified service rules declared for teachers.
Later, speaking to the media, Srihari said the role played by the Union Minister was remarkable and but for his intervention it could have been delayed. He added that the Chief Minister, who had written to the Centre on the subject, continuously monitored the issue and pursued the matter along.
He said the decision would help improve the quality of education to a great extent. With the cooperation of AP Education Minister Ghanta Srinivasa Rao, he brought pressure on the Centre to clear the file related to the rules at the earliest.
Srihari sought early categorisation of the Scheduled Castes in the State and brought to the notice of the Union Minister that the Chief Minister had handed over the Assembly resolution in this regard directly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The categorisation was getting delayed and all political parties were in favour of the same in the State, he told Naidu.
