Kodad: High drama took place when a building owner stalled the authorities from shifting the Minority Gurukul School for girls from his building to another in Kodad on Saturday.

The officials of Minority Gurukul School decided to shift the school to another building on Suryapet road from the present building at Naya Nagar in Kodad due to insufficient accommodation. The owner of the building, Radhakrishna along with his wife staged a dharna and locked the officials Mohd Osman and Kashanna for some time.

Later speaking to the media, Radhakrishna said that last year the officials of Minority Gurukul School for Girls made a rental agreement with him to run the school for two years at a monthly rent of Rs 45,000.

But, he alleged that they are shifting the school to another building in the name of insufficient accommodation. He said that he had invested Rs 5 lakh for renovating the building for the comfort of the students.

Meanwhile, the officials argued that last year the students’ strength was 120 but this year it was increased to 320, which became insufficient. “We informed the same matter to the building owner a couple of months ago.

But he wantonly created nuisance during the shifting and obstructed the duty officials in a rude manner. Girl students are facing severe problems as there are only four toilets for the 320 students in the present building,” they explained.

The School Principal Venkatanaryana said that they have lodged a complaint with Kodad town PS on Radhakrishna’s misbehavior with the officials during building shifting.
