Hyderabad: Two women were harassed by a group of eve-teasers on Monday. According to the victims, there were about six eve-teasers who chased the auto they were travelling on two-wheelers for a few kilometres.

According to the complaint with the police, a 19-year-old student, along with her relative, was allegedly chased from their residence under Mailardevpally police station limits till Abids (about 10 km). She was accompanied by her sister-in-law. Later, they also forcibly tried to enter the auto and hurled abusive words at the women. One of the accused even tried to attack the women. The victim identified them as residents of Shastripuram and the prime suspect asZarar.

The woman and her sister-in-law were travelling from Mailardevpally area to Abids for shopping. After being confronted by the women, the eve-teasers began abusing them and threatened them of dire consequences. “They started chasing us, after we got onto the auto.To avoid them, we changed the route, but they followed us andZarar commandeered the auto and later they asked the auto driver to get down,” said the victim.

Based on the video recorded by the women on their mobile phones, the Mailardevpally police registered cases against three persons and began investigation. The complaint was registered on Tuesday a day after the incident took place.

P Jagadeeshwar, Inspector of Mailardevpally police station said the six men allegedly harassed her and used filthy language and even threatened her. On Tuesday morning, the victim visited the police station and filed a complaint, he said and added that a case had been registered under Section 354 D, 341 and 506 of the IPC. He said the police had identified the three accused and search is on for them.
