Chief Minister unfurls national flag at Golconda; Ministers and officials at their designated districts

Hyderabad: The Telangana government conducted 71st Independence Day celebrations across the State on Tuesday. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao unfurled the national flag at Golconda Fort after paying tributes to martyrs at Parade Grounds.

Ministers and officials conducted the programme at their designated districts on the occasion. At Siddipet, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao unfurled national flag and took Guard of Honour after the parade. Similarly, IT and Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao hoisted the national flag at Rajanna Siricilla district and received the Guard of Honour from the police.

Finance Minister E Rajender unfurled the national flag in Karimnagar district and took police salute. Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy hoisted the national flag in Mahbubnagar and vowed to irrigate 2 lakh acres more through Bheema and Koilsagar lift schemes during Kharif season. He promised to provide safe waters to each household by December on completion of Mission Bhagiratha scheme.

Panchayat Raj Minister Jupally Krishna Rao unfurled the national flag at Nagarkurnool and promised to bring 4.60 lakh acres under irrigation by spending Rs 37,800 crore.

Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy hoisted the flag at Vikarabad District and received the Guard of Honour from the police. BC Welfare Minister Jogu Ramanna participated in Independence Day celebrations in Adilabad.

Meanwhile, NI-MSME celebrated the 71st Independence Day on its campus at Yousufguda. The flag was hoisted by Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya. The programme was followed by cultural programmes where presentations were given by the national and International participants. The programmes had national participants apart from 54 international participants from 26 countries.

The Independence Day was celebrated at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (NPA) with great fanfare and enthusiasm. NPA Director D R Doley Barman unfurled the Tricolour. Speaking on the occasion, the director stressed the need for eradicating the evils of socio-economic challenges like poverty and corruption which ailed the civil society and fighting internal security threats being faced by our country.

He exhorted 137 budding young IPS probationers of 69 RR batch, 118 IPS probationers of 68 RR batch undergoing their Phase-II training, five probationers from Bhutan, five from Nepal and four from Maldives currently undergoing their basic training in the academy, to redeem the pledge to ensure unity and integrity of the nation and the need to synergise all institutions and people and reenergise India like never before.

The Independence Day celebrations were held at Telangana State Assembly on a grand note.

Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary unfurled the national flag on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Chary said the nation was developing in all sectors and suggested the youth to behave in tune with the aims of freedom fighters. He said Telangana State too developed in a great manner in the last three years.

Legislative Council Deputy Chairman Nethi Vidyasagar hoisted national flag on the Council premises. He received police honour on the occasion.
