Earlier, the Telangana CM had offered gold ornaments worth Rs 5 crore to Lord Balaji at Tirumala with much fanfare, besides offering a nose-stud worth Rs 45,000 to Goddess Padmavati at Tirupati.

KCR also offered a gold crown weighing 3 kg and 700 grams worth Rs 3.60 crore to Bhadrakali temple in Warangal. He also offered 'bangaru meesalu' (golden moustache) worth Rs 60,000 to Kuravi Veerabhadra Swamy temple in Mahabubabad district. KCR has already released Rs 75 lakh to design the nose-stud for Goddess Kanaka Durga, source said.

In April last year, the chief minister offered gold ornaments worth Rs 5 crore, also from the state exchequer to Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala.

In December 2015, the CM drew flak from all quarters, after he conducted a 'Ayutha Chandi Maha Yagam,' to please the gods. The yagam took place at his 120-acre farmhouse at Erravalli village in Medak district.
