Hyderabad: Governor ESL Narasimhan has extended warm greetings to people of Telangana, especially the women, on the auspicious occasion of ``Bathukamma festival” which commences on September 20.

Bathukamma festival symbolises the cultural spirit of Telangana. Bathukamma is characterised by gathering of flowers and different unique floral arrangements. Flowers like gunuka poolu, tangedu poolu and other flowers like banti, chamanti, nandivardhanam are arranged in beautiful patterns.

The worship of Goddess for prosperity, good health and for fulfilment of desires is unique because of its association with flowers.

“I wish the people of both the Telugu States a happy and joyous Bathukamma festival”, he added. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao conveyed his greetings to the people in the State on the occasion of Bathukamma festival.

The Chief Minister said the Bathukamma festival, which mirrored the Telangana culture and traditions should be celebrated with happiness and gaiety by the people. Chandrashekar Rao instructed the officials concerned to make necessary arrangements at the temples and at the Bathukamma Ghats.
