Hyderabad : Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has expressed his resolve to restore Hereditary Jobs for the dependent of Singareni Collieries employees.

Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan on Friday, the Chief Minister said that the State Government was in consultation with legal experts to restore Hereditary Jobs which was scrapped by the High Court.

KCR said the victory of TRS-affiliated trade union Telangana Boggu Gani Karmika Sangham (TBGKS) was certain in the Singareni union elections. He said that hte TBGKS was established during the statehood movement and it played a key role in formation of Telangana. He appealed the workers to vote in favour of TBGKS candidates.

The Chief Minister also announced various sops for the Singareni employees. He promised to give Rs. 6 lakh interest free housing loans. He said not many employees, who work in coal mines, survive for even 10 years after their retirement. Therefore, he said special measures would be taken for the health of Sinagreni workers and also their parents. He also announced increase in compensation to Rs. 25 lakh for the workers who get killed in accidents.

KCR alleged that previous Congress and TDP regimes have exploited the Sinagreni workers and never understood or solved their problems. He said when TRS Government tried to provide Heridatory Jobs it was stopped by approaching the court. Targetting Congress-affiliated INTUC, he said some leaders distributed sweets when court stopped the Hereditary Jobs. He said one group filed 17 cases against the move. He said despite all obstructions, Hereditary Jobs would be made a reality in Sinagreni. He said as many as 3,527 applications of Hereditary Jobs are pending as on today.

The Chief Minister said that his government took a historic decision to provide Rs. 8,000 annually per acre as input subsidy to farmers and subsequently, it constituted Farmers Coordination Committees. The move was appreciated by all including former Prime Minister Deve Gowda. However, he said Congress leaders have been opposing the move.

KCR claimed that the TRS Government provided 7,000 new jobs since it came to power while the services of 500 workers were regularised. He said 650 people were recruited very recently. He also promised to regularise the services of about 14,000 to 19,000 'Duplicate Employees'.

The Chief Minister said as against the bonus of 16%, this time the bonus was increased to 25%. He said a resolution would be passed in Assembly to exempt Singareni workers from Income Tax and Professional Tax.

Finance Minister Etala Rajender, Nizamabad MP K. Kavitha and other senior TRS leaders were also present.
