According to officials, though two years have completed, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation did not acquire even single property till date.

According to GHMC official, under SRDP package IV, the GHMC started works at Biodiversity Junction, Mind Space Junction, Ayyappa Society and Rajiv Gandhi Statue Junction near JNTU.

The SRDP works at Biodiversity Junction have been halted due to land acquisition where shifting of cables and shifting of water lines should be done. Open lands in front of 20 properties all along stretch from SBI Toli Chowki Branch to Darga Junction in Circle no.10 need to be acquired for a width of 3m-4m for widening of road.

When queried about the issue, a senior GHMC official told The Hans India that the civic body had started works only at the places where there was no requirement of land and property acquisition. He said that the GHMC has managed to complete only 30 per cent of the works at all the junctions.

When asked for the reasons for the delay in property and land acquisition, he said that the land and property owners have been demanding whopping amounts as compensation which cannot be afforded by the civic body. He said that the GHMC has to acquire about 300 properties and 200 acres of land where it has pay Rs 400 crore for payment of compensation.

SRDP PACKAGE -IV

Bio diversity Junction:

  • Land acquisition is pending for want of issue of notification from RR Dist Collectorate. Socio impact assessment final report from EPTRI obtained.
  • Entire flyover work, shifting of cables and shifting of water lines were not taken up for want of land acquisition.
  • Construction of 6 lane two-way flyover crossing 7 Tombs jn (Shaikpet), Film Nagar Road Jn., O U Colony Junction, and Whisper Valley Junction
  • Open lands in front of 20 properties all along stretch from SBI Tolichowki Branch up to Dharga Junction in Circle No.10 need to be acquired for a width of 3m-4m for widening of road.
  • Open lands in front of properties all along stretch from Whisper Valley Junction towards Malkam Cheruvu on LHS (left hand side) in Circle No.11 need to be acquired for a width of 3-4m for widening of road.
  • Construction of Multi level flyovers / Grade Separators at Botanical Garden, Kothaguda and Kondapur Junctions
  • Eight properties on LHS and 1 property on RHS (right hand side) need to be acquired immediately for construction of flyover excluding the properties required for service road.
  • 0.95 acres of botanical garden land to be handed over and 3more properties are to be acquired.

Elevated Rotary-cum-Grade Separator at Cyber Towers junction:

Acquisition of 4.6 acres private land and 1.77 acres Shilparamam land has to be taken up.

SRDP PACKAGE -V

Construction of Multi level Flyovers / Grade Separators at Owaisi Hospital Junction and Bahadurpura Junction in Hyderabad under Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) – Turnkey (Package-V)

The GHMC need to acquire certain land belonging to DRDO i.e., 1231.53 sqyds existing in the premises of Apollo Hospital which is under the control of DRDO, Ministry of Defence.
