Unable to deal with husband's harassment, woman attempts suicide at Telangana Secretariat

A married woman attempted suicide in Hyderabad on Saturday. She administered sleeping pills at the Telangana Secretariat where she arrived to meet Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy demanding action against her husband.

The woman, Swapna is married to Sai Kiran, a police constable. According to the reports, her husband was suspended due to some reasons.

Since then, her husband had been harassing her and demanding an additional dowry. Following the incident, she was rushed to a private hospital and her condition is said to be stable.

The Home Minister directed the commissioner to look into the matter.
