Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Met office has predicted heavy rainfall across the state during the next 24 hours. Post-monsoon showers continued to drench Hyderabad and many places in the state on Saturday.

While the state and capital city Hyderabad witnessed torrential rainfall on October 2 and 3, rainfall activity remained quite subdued after that.

But now, meteorologists predict that there would be heavy rainfall across the state for the next 24 hours.“Thunderstorm associated with heavy rain very likely to occur in all the districts of Telangana,” they said.

In the last 24 hours, besides Hyderabad, many places in districts like Ramagundam and Hanamkonda have received moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers.

According to IMD officials, these conditions were attributed to a cyclonic circulation circulating over Odisha. In addition to the cyclonic circulation there is also a trough extending from northern limits of the Bay of Bengal to the Arabian Sea crossing over the State.

“Further, the intensity of these rains is expected to go up after 24 hours over the state. During that time, moderate spells with isolated heavy are likely to lash northern parts of Telangana.

Whereas southern districts of the state will witness light to moderate rains. Hyderabad is expected to receive a few spells of moderate to heavy rain during that time,” according to Skymet weather bulletin.
