Hyderabad: Telangana Joint Action Committee Chairman Prof M Kodandaram called up on the unemployed youth to participate in the ‘Koluvulakai Kotlata’ agitational programme scheduled on October 31 in large numbers.

The JAC Chairman was speaking at a meeting of Intellectuals’ Reception Committee meeting on Wednesday. He said that there are 80 per cent youth under the age of 30 years and there is no effort from the government to provide employment. He alleged that the education standards in the Universities have gone down.

The JAC would organise a seminar on the unemployment with the participation of intellectuals. He urged the intellectuals to cooperate with the JAC leaders to meet Home Minister N Narasimha Reddy for getting permission for the meeting on October 31.

Recalling the role played by the unemployed youth during the Telangana agitation, Prof G Haragopal said that intellectuals expected that the unemployed youth would get jobs in their own State. TRS party which came to power through agitation is not concentrating on providing employment.

He alleged that the Universities were ignored totally by the government and the intellectuals would not keep quiet if the government imposes restrictions on the agitations. The government should provide permission for the proposed meeting of the unemployed youth on October 31.

He said that there would be agitations until there are problems. The civil society should continuously exert pressure on the government for getting solutions to the problems, he added.
