Following the Telangana Cab Drivers' and Owners' Association (TCDOA) taking up a ‘flash strike’ on Monday, commuters went through a lot of trouble.

Several cab drivers staged a protest at the Secunderabad railway station on Monday. With no announcement of the strike, the commuters had no choice to pay up the unreasonable surge fee to avail cabs while many others were stuck due to the non-availability of the cabs.

Commuters lamented that the fares took a huge surge in various places including Secunderabad, Kondapur, and Hitech City.

It is learned that the flash strike was put in force to get the state government intervene and modulate the operations of the cab services.

The TCDOA members alleged that the cab companies - Ola and Uber went back on the several incentive plans announced that brought the drivers onboard resulting in them spending all their hours working without making any profit.
