Jadcharla: Medical and Health Minister Dr Laxma Reddy called upon the people to stand by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao who, he said, was taking good care of people with the help of various schemes and government programmes right from the conception of a child.
“It is the duty of people to save the government which is working with high commitment towards the subjects,” he said.
He was taking part in a string of development programmes in Jadcharla and Badepalli Nagara Panchayat. He laid foundation stone for the Rs 2.60-crore BT road works and drainage works here. Later, he distributed cheques among beneficiaries of the Shaadi Mubarak scheme at Chandra Gardens here.
The Minister laid foundation stone for the Rs 1.65-crore Bus Station-SC Committee Hall Road, Rs 27.50-lakh BT road from Gandhi statue to Mudiraj Committee Hall, Rs 37.50-lakh BT road from Lakshman Naik to Santoshamata temple in Padmavati Colony, a Rs 13-lakh BT road in Venkateswara Colony and Rs 9-lakh BT road in Gouri Shankar Colony. He distributed compensation cheques, each for Rs 50,000, among the bereaved family members of four people who died in an accidental. He distributed a cheque for Rs 6 lakh to the spouse of a farmer who met with an untimely accidental death.
He branded the previous government as corrupt and negligent to public welfare. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) taught them a lesson for not agitating for statehood to Telangana. He described the rule of the KCR government as the golden rule if the government schemes were any indication. The State government had been implementing schemes that it promised in the TRS manifesto and those outside the purview of the manifesto, he said. He quoted the Mission Kakatiaya and the Mission Bhagiradha as examples to support his argument. “Ever since a woman becomes pregnant, KCR-kits programme enables registering her in the third month and provides them nutritious food. Diagnostic tests are conducted and they are encouraged to undergo normal delivery. The child gets vaccinated against incidence of various diseases,” he said.
For the benefit of the poor, the State government was sending bodies of the deceased to their native places through special vehicles. He hinted at increasing the 102 ambulances by at least 200. “The 102 ambulance safely drops mother and child at their homes after the delivery,” he said.
En route to Badepalli and Jadcharla, the Minister interacted with casual workers and had tea along with the workers of the Polepalli SEZ. He inspected the roads and drainages in lanes and bylanes and enquired them about their problems. He sought feedback from them on the government schemes and whether they would be able to derive benefit under them.
Later, he garlanded the statue of Srikantha Chary, who made the supreme sacrifice with his life for the sake of Telangana, here. He said the rebuilding of Telangana was going on to fulfill the objective of Srikantha Chary.
