Hafizpet: Legislator Arekapudi Gandhi on Tuesday laid foundation for Manjeera pipeline work in Gangaram and Subashnagar Colony, along with local corporator Pujita Jagdishwar Goud. Addressing the gathering, the MLA stated that the Mission Bhagirata project, a dream of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, would ensure drinking water to every house across the State.

He said drinking water shortage in Serilingampally constituency would end, with each house getting supply, once the project was completed. ‘The pipeline work is being taken up with the assistance of HUDCO. It has been necessitated following water contamination because of old pipelines, causing problems to local residents for several years’, he said.

Gandhi expressed confidence that there would be no water supply problems in the two areas as the supply was being taken up with the use of power boards and after construction of 18 reservoirs, of which four have already been completed. He appealed to every house resident to take water supply permission and not to waste water. ‘Once the connections are taken the CC road should be re-laid’, the MLA directed officials.
