Collector directs officials speed up rectification of errors in passbooks

Gurrampodu (Nalgonda): District Collector Gaurav Uppal here on Wednesday said the rectification of errors in pattadar passbooks and Rythu Bandhu cheques are being carried out at a brisk pace. The corrected passbooks would be distributed to the farmers soon, he said.

After inspecting the rectification of errors in the passbooks at Gurrampodu Tahsildar office, the Collector advised the staff to take utmost care in correcting the errors. He directed the officials to ensure that account and Aadhaar card numbers are entered.

He interacted with Special Deputy Collector and Rythu Bandhu Special Officer Chandra Shekar, Tahsildar and computer operators. The computer operators explained to the Collector the technical problems encountered.

The Collector said only 10 per cent of passbooks contained errors and they would be rectified soon. The officials had so far distributed 85 per cent of passbooks to the farmers. He asked the farmers not get agitated over non-distribution of passbooks and Rythu Bandhu cheques.

He said the passbooks and cheques would be distributed to them once the Tahsildars cross-checked them. The Agriculture Extension Officers would visit villages to collect names of farmers and nominees to help them enroll in the insurance scheme the State government would launch from August 15.
