A long-time activist for the cause of separate Telangana, Prof Keshav Rao Jadhav breathed his last in Hyderabad today. It is learned that Prof Jadhav had been unwell for some time and passed away at a private hospital in the city.

Recalling his services for the Telangana statehood, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao condoled Prof Jadhav’s death.

Prof Keshav Rao Jadhav played a crucial role in the first separate Telangana movement in the late 1960s and early 1970s while also being instrumental in pulling in like-minded groups together when the movement took shape again in the early 2000s.

Senior Congress leader K Jana Reddy and Telangana Praja Samiti president Prof M Kodandaram were among the several prominent political leaders who paid their respects.
