Bhadrachalam: The five-day Pavithrothsavalu programmes commenced here in the Lord Rama temple on Tuesday. The temple priests conducted special poojas as part of the programme. The priests took theerdha bindha from the river Godavari amid chants of shlokas.

Meanwhile, the temple officials suspended the Nithya Kalayanam programme till August 26. The pavithrothsavalu programmes are being conducted for five days, said the priests.
