Hyderabad: Amidst strong reports of dissolution of State Assembly on Thursday, the Telangana Secretariat witnessed a busy atmosphere with huge influx of visitors. All the department Secretaries were flooded with pleas from people, MLAs, contractors and district officials requesting them to clear the pending files. Legislators made a beeline before the chambers of Chief Secretary, GAD and Finance department Secretaries to get their nod to the pending files.

For the last three years, the Secretariat wore a deserted look as Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao kept himself away from it citing ‘Vastu Dosha’, and have been discharging duties, including Cabinet meetings from his camp office, Pragati Bhavan. Only during the first year of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) term did KCR perform his duties from the Secretariat.

On Thursday, steady stream of visitors thronged the Secretary chambers in all departments. Chief Secretary SK Joshi cancelled the visiting hours for outsiders and confined to clearing the files forwarded by the State Irrigation, Police, GAD, Education, Health departments etc.

TRS MLAs Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Jeevan Reddy were among other legislators seen waiting at the official chambers in the Chief Minister’s Office for the clearance of files pertaining to sanction of funds under Constituency Development Fund (CDF) of the last two quarters of 2018-19 financial year. The MLAs also submitted new proposals under the CDF in the third quarter. While the Irrigation officials will hold a meeting with Minister T Harish Rao to clear all files on Wednesday night, the secretaries were already instructed to address all the pending important issues till Thursday evening and asked them to make available to the CMO in the next two days.

Officials said that the secretaries were updating the status of all pending files to the Chief Secretary and seeking his nod through online in the Secretariat. Collectors are also awaiting the nod of Chief Secretary and Finance Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao’s for the release of funds under various development programmes in the districts mainly two-bedroom houses, road development works, upgradation of health clinics and developing the infrastructure in government schools.
