Congress party activists organised bandh in Medak, Sangareddy and Siddipet district on Monday protesting against the unusual hike in the petrol prices. In Kolcharam, Congress party activists took out rallies and shut down the business establishments.

In Shankarampet, Congress Party workers tried to burn effigy of Central government. But, police foiled their attempt and took them to the police station. Leaders from Medak district Potharaju, Ramana Kantha Reddy, Tirupati Reddy, Sriman Reddy, Ramchander Goud were present.

Bandh was peaceful and partial in Narayankhed. Leaders of Congress, TDP and left parties organised the protest. Activists staged a blockade in front of RTC depot. Private drivers pulled their vehicles with rope to record their protest. Police took them into custody. Congress leader’s former MP Suresh Shetkar, Nagesh Kumar Shetkar, MPTC Pandari Reddy, Chandrasekhar Reddy, CITU leaders Chiranjeevi and others were present.

Bandh was peaceful in Medak district. The protest rallies and demonstrations are lead by left parties. Bandh was observed in Medak, Weldurthi, Narsapur, Ramayampet, Nizampet mandals. Business establishments, education institutions, petrol bunks voluntarily shut down and extended solidarity to the bandh. CPI leaders Ganesh, A Lakshman along with Congress, CPM leaders and others were present.
