​Sangareddy: The first level checking of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) was started here at old DRDA office on Tuesday. This programme is being organised in presence of leaders from various political parties and the district Collector. As many as 11 engineers from BHEL, Bengaluru along with a superior officer conducted the check. They are certifying the machines after verifying the accuracy of ballot units and control units. They are checking and showing the functioning of EVMs to the leaders.
As many as 2350 ballot units, 1830 control units, 1980 VVPATs (Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail) have been reached here. The district collector told the engineers to check as many as possible in a day. He also directed them to clarify if any doubts expressed by the leaders.
The district SP Chandrasekhar Reddy supervised the security arrangements of the programme. Joint Collector Nikhila directed the concerned officials to keep the EVMs in the same boxes after checking. DRO Venkateswarlu, civil supplies officer Srikanth Reddy, RDO Srinu, tahasildar Vijaykumar, VO Gunderao, Pasha, revenue, DSO, police and technical staff participated in the programme. Representatives from TRS, BJP, Congress, YSRCP, CPI, CPM, TDP were present.
