LB Nagar: Dosapati Ramu who fought unsuccessfully in 2014 General Elections as Lok Satta Party candidate, is now making himself busy by creating awareness on use of paper or jute bags instead of plastic. He also brought ‘tiffin box’ challenge and received good response from the people of the constituency.
Speaking to The Hans India, he said that due to the challenge usage of plastic carry bags were reduced in LB Nagar, Hastinapuram and Uppal. Ramu said that later he focused on weekly markets and with the help of locals distributed 5,000 paper bags to the vegetable vendors. He said that due to their efforts usage of almost one lakh plastic carry bags was reduced in the markets.
