Quthbullapur: People’s Front candidate Kuna Srisailam Goud on Thursday participated in a ‘rath yatra’ as part of his intensified campaign. At the head of a bike rally, he moved from Bahadurpally to Rajiv Gruhakalpa, Dulapally and other villages, while appealing to voters to back the front in the December 7 polling. He also moved in buses of workers while appealing to them. Addressing the road-side gatherings, Goud asserted that the credit for building the Rajiv Rahadhari should be given to the Congress party, the then Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and himself. He claimed that when people were struggling to secure drinking water his Amma-Nanna Trust had offered mineral water at Rs 2 a litre.

In contrast, he pointed out that, the TRS government in the last four years had done nothing worthwhile. Goud called upon voters to ensure defeat of TRS candidate Vivekanand so as to teach a lesson to the ruling party for its shortcomings’. Among those who accompanied the former Congress MLA were constituency in-charge Burgubavi Hanumanth Rao, mandal president Srinivas Reddy, Banda Narsimha, Krishna Yadav, Komarayya Yadav, Kumar Yadav, Saggadi Srinivas, Sattayya Goud, Banda Venkatayya, Maisigari Ranga Rao, Dulapalli Sivakumar Goud, Rajnikanth, Narsimha, Srinivas.

Meanwhile, several TRS and BJP leaders like Bandi Srikanth, Chendla Srinivas, Bandagiri, Vinod joined the Congress party in the presence of Goud. TRS leader Thanam Sridhar Reddy too switched loyalties to Congress in Suraram Ramlila Maidan. About 1,000 TRS activists, including Kolanu Hanumath Reddy, Samula Venkatesh also joined the Praja Kutami in Goud’s presence. In another development, several priests conducted special prayers at Goud’s residence for the electoral success of the Kutami. Meanwhile, Goud’s son and State Youth Congress leader Kuna Srinivas Goud, joined the canvassing, along with leaders of several residential localities. These leaders joined the Congress party and were welcomed by him.
