Hyderabad: Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) president Prof M Kodandaram on Friday said that a vote to Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) would go waste as the Chief Minister would be at farm house whether he wins or loses. Addressing a public meeting at Medchal, which was attended by UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and AICC president Rahul Gandhi, he said that Peoples Front has been formed following the wishes of the people of the State.

He said that the people of the State wanted to defeat dictatorial regime of K Chandrashekar Rao. He said that the front was formed to ensure a Telangana which was the dream of many students and activists. Kondandaram alleged that the government failed to fill the vacancies in the government departments. Though it had promised to fill one lakh jobs, even 25,000 were not filled.

He said that the TRS was ready to dump crores of rupees to win the election. The Front did not have money. Narrating the mythological story of Sri Krishna Tulabharam, he said that people of Telangana could not be won with money.

He said that in the Krishna Tulabharam, saint Narada asks people to buy Sri Krishna by offering money equal to the weight of the God. But Satyabhama fails, and Rukmini achieves success by offering one Tulasi leaf. He said that the Congress ensured statehood to Telangana by facing several issues. He said that he saw personally how it has overcome several hardships in Lok Sabha to ensure passage of AP Reorganisation bill. However, Chandrashekar Rao’s government failed to deliver the goods.

Telugu Desam party (TDP) State unit president L Ramana said that during the 51 months old rule of the TRS, the self-pride of Telangana was dented. He said that he had taken the initiative to form the alliance. Ramana said that the Front would work with common minimum programme. He wanted the voters to bless the candidates of the Front. Communist party of India (CPI) State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy said that Telangana has become a reality only with the initiative of Sonia Gandhi.

He said that Telangana has gone into the Gadi Rule in the past four and half years. He said that the Peoples Front has achieved the trust of the people and made it clear that taking Sanyasa if defeated means that running away from responsibilities.

Balladeer Gaddar said that Sonia Gandhi ensured the passage of APRA bill by ‘stalling time’ in the Parliament. He said that the newly born State was grossly neglected, and Sonia has come again to take care of the nourishment of the State. Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N Uttam Kumar Reddy called upon the Congress and rank and file to work with cadres of the TDP, the TJS and the CPI to ensure the win of candidates of the Front. He urged the people not to believe the rants of caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

He said that Telangana has been humiliated by the TRS government. He said that the caretaker Chief Minister would go to farm house and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao would go to America after December 11 as the Front would establish the government after that.

TPCC campaign committee chairman Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka recalled the sacrifices made by the party to ensure statehood to Telangana. He said that it was time to repay the debt owed by people of Telangana to Sonia Gandhi.

TPCC working president A Revanth Reddy said that the State was made to become bankrupt in 51 months rule of the TRS. He said that the Peoples Front would give confidence to farmers and jobs to the unemployed. He alleged that while Telangana activists made sacrifices for Statehood, the Chief Minister’s family used them for their own benefits.

The meeting was addressed by National BC Welfare Association president R Krishnaiah, Congress senior leaders Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Madhu Yaski, D Sridhar Babu, party candidates K Laxma Reddy, Vanteru Pratap Reddy and others.

MP from TRS Konda Visweswar Reddy, former MLC Yadava Reddy, Narottam Reddy of Telugu Desam Party joined the Congress in the presence of Rahul and Sonia Gandhi at the public meeting. Sonia was facilitated by several eminent personalities of the State and MRPS State president Manda Krishna Madiga. She was presented with shawls and souvenirs by Gaddar family.
