Chandrayangutta: The poll campaign in Chandrayangutta constituency gets sizzling, even the MIM’s favourite and second in command, Akbaruddin Owaisi, is getting his share of applause from the youth for his vociferous speeches. While, the body builder-turned-politician, Esa Bin Obaid Misri, who comes from Arab background is ready to grasp the maximum vote share from the constituency having sizeable voters claiming the common ancestry. Even as the voters are pondering over whom to vote this time in the Assembly elections, candidates from different political parties including the MIM (which has been holding sway for about two decades), Praja Kutami (People’s Front), TRS, MBT are busy campaigning in different areas of the constituency.

The constituency with unique demography and lifestyle demands distinct aspirations from the voters. The candidates have been campaigning door-to-door and interacting with locals in Barkas, Chandrayangutta, Uppuguda, Riyasat Nagar, Lalitha Nagar, Jangammet, Rakshapuram, Balapur etc. According to locals, the MLA candidate from different parties are seen in door-to-door campaign and interacting with public by explaining about their proposals over developments in constituency. “MLA candidate from Praja Kutami, Esa Bin Obaid Misri, a body builder who is active on social media and in social activities is now an MLA candidate. He is seen interacting with locals in a polite way and promise to make a change in the constituency in the public meetings. He is seeking votes on development plan. I support Esa Misri in the assembly election for a Change,” said Yahiya bin Abdallah, an Arab.

This time it is a kind of festive mood amongst the candidates and their supporters. But the main candidates who can be seen as main contenders (in a neutral way) are Akbaruddin Owaisi and Esa Misri. But amongst these two candidates, Owaisi is stronger and could be elected again,” said Akhlaq Ahmed Ansari, a resident of Kanchanbagh.

“The AIMIM floor leader and ‘Sher’ of Hyderabad Akbaruddin Owaisi is the MLA of constituency since 1999. This constituency has people from all kinds of caste and community and most of the locals hope that even this time Akbar would win. He gives a hate speech but in the response to others, but he remains a symbol of development in Hyderabad. Even though he received serious injury in the murder bid in 2011, he never backed down and won in 2014 elections,” said Mohammed Ahmed, a resident of Rakshapuram, near DRDO. Akbar not only developed roads and Nala in Bandlaguda, he also opened 2 schools in the constituency which provide education for free to thousands of students. He remains a voice of his constituents in Assembly and recently he provided 50 acre for graveyard, Ahmed added.
