Hyderabad: The Congress is planning to use the last four days of poll campaign, including Sunday, to leave a big impact on electioneering with public meetings of AICC president Rahul Gandhi and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi would address two public meetings on December 3 and is likely to come back to the state on the last day of the campaign, December 5, for some more meetings in the state. He is likely to address public meetings till the last minute of the campaign. Sonia Gandhi may also come on the last day of the campaign. Apart from these public meetings, the Congress would hold a big public meeting along with People’s Front leaders.
Rahul would also hold roadshows with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Telangana Congress treasurer Guduru Narayana Reddy said that they have asked the AICC to arrange for a visit of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
He said that they have urged the AICC to consider their request by taking health condition of Sonia into consideration. He said that Rahul would arrive in Hyderabad at 11 am on December 3 and would proceed to Gadwal to address a public meeting. He would address another public meeting at Tandur at 2 pm and in the evening Rahul would participate in a roadshow along with Chandrababu Naidu.
The Congress wants to make most of the last four days of campaign from Sunday onwards. The campaign for the Assembly elections would end on December 5 evening.
The grand old party leaders said that this time they have left no stone unturned in the canvassing in the state. They have created fear in the hearts of TRS leaders and made them sweat it out. They said that the last four days are crucial and they want to impact the campaign with public meetings, roadshows and other means.
The Congress is using the media and social media extensively to score a point over the rival TRS.
The Congress had depended for the campaign mostly on Rahul Gandhi who addressed about eight public meetings and one road show so far. He is likely to address four more public meetings and two road shows.
The party leaders said that the people have received Rahul very well and enjoyed his speeches. His efforts to instill confidence in the people about the Congress led Peoples Front have yielded good results.
The candidates of the party have also been putting up serious efforts to win from their respective constituencies. All the senior leaders who are contesting from the Congress have been vigorously campaigning in their constituencies.
Seniors like K Jana Reddy, Shabbir Ali, Ponnam Prabhakar, Revanth Reddy, DK Aruna, Jagga Reddy, Geetha Reddy, Sabita Reddy, Sudhir Reddy, R Krishnaiah, Sunita Laxma Reddy, Ponnala Laxmaiah, Bhatti Vikramarka and others are not leaving their constituencies.
PCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy is balancing the campaign in his constituency and also in other parts of the state. He has addressed roadshows in his constituency Huzurnagar and participated in the public meetings of Rahul Gandhi.
Gaddar, Vijayashanti, Azaharuddin, Revanth Reddy, Bhatti Vikramarkha, AICC leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad, Navjoth Singh Siddhu and others have added their strength to the campaign of the Congress.
