Karimnagar: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) maintained its strong hold in united Karimnagar district by winning 10 Assembly segments out of the total 12 in the elections. The TRS has completely washed away the Congress from the district, leaving only one seat to it. Former Minister Sridhar Babu of Congress defeated Putta Madhukar with a margin of over 15,908 votes in Manthani Assembly constituency.

The sitting MLA and former Minister Jeevan Reddy, who had performed double hat-trick from Jagtial constituency, lost in the hands of his arch rival and TRS candidate Dr Sanjay Kumar, who won with the margin of over 60,774 votes.

In Karimnagar Assembly segment, a triangle fight took place between TRS, BJP and Congress candidates. TRS candidate and sitting MLA Gangula Kamalakar made a hat-trick by defeating BJP candidate Bandi Sanjay Kumar with a margin of 15,539 votes. Here the former MP and TPCC working president Ponnam Prabhakar secured third position.

Caretaker IT Minister and son of caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and TRS chief, KT Rama Rao won from Sircilla constituency with a bumper majority of 89,009 votes over Congress candidate K Mahender Reddy. This is the highest majority gained by KT Rama Rao, when compared to previous elections he contested.

Whereas caretaker Finance Minister Eatala Rajender faced a tough fight from Congress candidate Koushik Reddy in Huzurabad constituency. Eatala won with a margin of 43,401 votes over the Congress candidate.

In Husnabad Assembly segment from where KCR started his election campaign with Praja Ashirwada Sabha, the sitting MLA Vodithala Satish Kumar defeated CPI State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy with a margin of 70,202 votes and proved his strong hold over the constituency.

The sitting MLA and balladeer Rasamayi Balakishan defeated former Government Whip and Congress candidate Arepalli Mohan with a margin of 31,681 votes.

Fomrer chief whip Koppula Eshwar survived with a very least margin of of 317 votes in Dharmapuri Assembly segment. He defeated his strong opponent of Congress Adluri Laxman Kumar.

In Peddapalli, sitting MLA and TRS candidate Dasari Manohar Reddy defeated Congress candidate Vijaya Ramana Rao with a margin of 8,227 votes.

In Ramagundam Assembly segment, independent candidate Korakanti Chander, who contested on All India Forward Block ticket surprisingly emerged as the winner in the tough fight that took place between TRS and Congress. He defeated Somarapu Satyanarayana with a margin of 26,307 votes.

In Korutla Assembly segment, Kalvakuntla Vidyasagar Rao defeated Congress candidate Juvvadi Narasinga Rao with a margin of 30,901 votes.
In Vemulawada Assembly segment, TRS nominee Chennamneni Ramesh defeated Congress candidate Adi Srinivas with a margin of 27,956 votes.

In Choppadandi, TRS nominee Ravi Shankar defeated Congress candidate Medipalli Satyam with a margin of 42,249 votes. The TRS nominees along with their party cadres celebrated their victory by bursting crackers and taking out processions and distributing sweets among the people for bumper results that secured in the district.
