Land sought to set up SSI cluster in Medak

Chanchalguda: Holding that progress of small-scale units is key to huge employment generation, All India Small Scale Industries Minorities Committee (AISSIMC) has urged the government to pay special attention on development of small-scale entrepreneurs in the State. Stating that such a focus would be a sign of healthy economy of State, the AISSIMC contended that government support would lead to all-round development and would drive economical growth of entire State.
As part of this endeavor, the committee has identified a 240-acre sited in Budhira village in Munipally mandal in Medak district, about 80 km from the city, to promote a cluster of SSI units. It presumes the government approval would provide an employment opportunity of 25,000 to 50,000 persons. Speaking to The Hans India, Committee president Syed Zainul Abedin Sayeed has said that the tiny and small-scale entrepreneurs are facing problems due to lack of proper government support in the way of their development.
The committee has been demanding for long a tiny industrial park so that the tiny entrepreneurs from different districts may join hands and work together in an organised manner, but the plea went unheeded. “We have identified a land in Medak district for coming up with the industrial park, first of its kind in the entire country. Small plots will be allotted to tiny entrepreneurs after due approvals from the authorities concerned. The government support can transform this idea into a hub of economic activity and could generate an employment to 50,000 people directly,” he said.
Committee president has submitted letters to the Chief Minister, Industries Minister, District Collector and other officials to consider this proposal and accord sanction to the proposals. He said that the unemployment is a serious problem faced by the country and government can resolve this problem with this kind of initiatives. He said that the society has launched a campaign for solving this serious problem. It has identified around 200 activities which can be started with a minimum investment of Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000. “The Committee has introduced a novel campaign entitled ‘Khud Kamao, Khud Khao’ and organised several programmes under its banner, which has benefitted thousands of youth and women,” added Sayeed.
Committee general secretary Mir Ayub Khan informed that the committee came into existence for resolving the issues of small-time entrepreneurs and had been struggling for economic development of the unemployed youth and women of Telangana for the past ten years.
