Gunfoundry: City-based Muslim organisation Wahdat-e-Islami announced to launch an awareness drive to educate people about the “vices of Triple Talaq and its eponymous bill.” Speaking before the Muslim scholars and intellectuals at the Round Table conference organised by Wahdat-e-Islami at Media Plus Auditorium in Gunfoundry, National President Wahdat e Islami Maulana Ata Ur Rahman Wajdi and organization’s State President Maulana Mohammed Naseeruddin expressed sheer discontent over the current political situation in the country.

Since the ruling government at center has come to power, Muslims are facing plenteous problems and their grievances are left unaddressed. The government has tried to impose restrictions on personal matters, including what Muslims eat, how they live and pray and even what education Muslims can get. “The people who talk about Islam not following triple talaq are now vouching for an Islam-free India”, said Maulana Naseeruddin. “Issues, such as sacrificing cows and buffaloes, ghar wapasi and love jihad are the examples of the atrocities in disguise on Muslims of India.”

“Therefore, an awareness drive is necessary to educate people on Muslim personal law”, he said. Muslim scholars at the conference called upon to launch an awareness drive to educate the general public, Muslims in particular, on such matters. The drive will focus particularly on educating people the vices of triple talaq, and the bill.
