Villagers block MLA Mahesh Reddy convoy at Parigi

Parigi: Demanding upgradation of Gundala tanda to Gram Panchayat, the residents resorted to protests by blocking the entry of MLA Mahesh Reddy to Mandal Parishad Office. He was there to attend general body meeting, at Doma on Friday.

They expressed anguish over their inability in getting old age pensions as the tanda was six km away from Gundala village. Negligence of politicians prevented the recognition of the tanda as Gram Panchayat, they alleged. Reddy tried to cajole the agitators by assuring to take the issue to government’s notice. Later, he attended the general body meeting.
