Hyderabad: An aged couple from Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district on Thursday met TRS working president K T Rama Rao and offered to donate the old age home constructed with Rs 1 crore to the government. Mereddy Satyanarayana Reddy and Janakamma met Rama Rao at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday.

The couple had constructed an old age home in Yadagirigutta with an expenditure of Rs 1 crore. The TRS working president hailed the gesture of the old aged couple. Rama Rao assured to talk to the government officials for continuing the old aged home.

Satyanarayana Reddy and Janakamma had constructed old age home at Pedda Koduru village in Choutuppal mandal in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district. They decided to donate the old age home which is constructed on about 1.5 acres and the building is spread across 6,000 square yards land.

They said that they wanted to donate this to government because of their deteriorating health. They urged Rao to ensure the home is maintained by the government. Hailing the decision of the aged couple, Rao spoke to District Collector Anita Ramachandran and assured of providing necessary help.
