Working president K T Rama Rao was given the honours to hoist the Indian tricolour flag at the party office and accordingly, he reached the venue in the morning. In the midst of party senior leaders and supporters, KTR unfurled the tricolour and later sangthe national anthem.
All these years, this practice was done by senior leader Naini Narasimha Reddy, who hoisted the National flag at Telangana Bhavan on Independence Day, Republic Day or on Hyderabad Vileena Dinam (September 17). At that time KCR, as TRS supremo, directed Naini to do the honours on behalf of the party. But with KTR taking over party reins recently, he has been tasked with this responsibility by the party leadership.
