Chanda Nagar: Serilingampally MLA Arekapudi Gandhi, along with corporators Navatha Reddy, Meka Ramesh and other TRS leaders, paid rich tributes to the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi, at Chanda Nagar on Wednesday on the occasion of his 71st death anniversary.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA praised the great personality and explained his role in the freedom movement. He said that Gandhi united one crore Indians using peace and non-violent methods to achieve freedom from the British.
Arekapudi urged everyone to tread the glorious path of the great person. “The freedom that we enjoy right now is because of his struggles against the imperialism,” he said. He exhorted youth to adopt Gandhi’s principles and tread in his path.
