Hyderabad: Countering the allegations of the Congress, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders asked TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy to disclose the amount the Congress paid to purchase Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, K Yadava Reddy, Bhoopati Reddy and TDP leader A Revanth Reddy. The Congress alleged the ruling party of buying their MLAs.

Addressing a press conference here at Telangana Bhavan along with Ministers T Srinivas Yadav and V Srinivas Goud and others, TRS working president K T Rama Rao said that both the Congress MLAs have clearly said that they have decided to join the pink party impressed with the functioning of the TRS government.

They got assurance from Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for solving the issues of tribals in the agency areas. They have written a letter specifying the reasons for joining the TRS. Both have also offered to resign and contest election again on TRS ticket, Rao said.

The TRS leader questioned N Uttam Kumar Reddy as to how much money was paid to purchase other party leaders who joined the Congress. “A sitting BJP MP in Uttar Pradesh Savitri Bai Phule joined Congress in the presence of AICC president Rahul Gandhi and general secretary Priyanka Gandhi.

How much the Congress party paid the BJP MP? How much the Congress party paid the TRS MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, MLC K Yadava Reddy, R Bhoopati Reddy and TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy? During the Congress regime, the TRS leaders were included in the party…was the democracy safe during that time,” questioned KTR.

He added that the Congress party’s alliance partner TDP had included 26 MLAs of YSR Congress party. Why the TPCC chief did not talk on this, Rao asked. Rao said that when the Congress leaders were staging dharna on Sunday, their party MLA K Rajgopal Reddy said that there was no enthusiasm in the party and also there was leadership crisis.

It is wrong to say that the MLAs are purchased. It is nothing but degrading the political system, Rama Rao said. The TRS leader said that the party has enough strength to win all the five seats in the council elections. “We have strength and with the second preferential votes we are going to win all the five seats,” he added.
