Warangal: The Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) has set its eyes on mitigating the drinking water problem during this summer. Municipal Commissioner N Ravi Kiran held a review meeting with the officials concerned at Enumamula Market Yard here on Thursday.

He said that efforts are on to ensure supply of drinking water to all the denizens in the city. “As of now, we have 54 tankers for supplying drinking water to the needy. In addition to this, we have plans to engage another 34 tankers,” Ravi Kiran said.

This apart, the civic body is engaging 20 borewells and 15 open wells to tackle the water scarcity. The authorities procured spare parts of borewells to replace during the summer if needed. Flushing of borewells is also taken up. Special teams were set up to arrest the leakages in pipelines.
SE Bikshapathi, EEs Lakshma Reddy, Vidyasagar and Rajkumar, and DE Ravi Kumar were among others present.
