Former PCC chief to attend June 30 meeting at Nizam College

Hyderabad: The former PCC president D Srinivas feels that the time for the party high command to take a final decision on the issue of bifurcation of the state had come but at the same time he stated that there was no possibility of a special package creating Rayala Telangana.

Talking to media on Friday, Srinivas said that the high command would take a positive decision in a cordial atmosphere which would be acceptable to all. Referring to the agitation for the T state, he said there may be differences in approach but all T leaders irrespective of party affiliation have been fighting for the cause. The issue could have been sorted long back but unfortunately, leaders from both the regions have been making certain comments which had widened the rift and created problems in finding an early solution.

Srinivas said that the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh into two states should not be seen as division of Telugus. Their bonds will become stronger once a separate state was carved. It is nothing but restoring status quo, he said. Srinivas said this time there would be no vacillation and the high command will come up with a final decision on T issue. Replying to a question, he said he will be attending the public meeting to be held at Nizam College grounds on Sunday.
