Seminar in Delhi in July first week
Hyderabad: The TJAC has made it clear once again that Rayala Telangana proposal is not acceptable to it. "We will not accept any package or whatsoever other than Telangana comprising ten districts with Hyderabad as the capital," TJAC chief Kodandaram said on Wednesday. Co-chairman Mallepalli Lakshmaiah exuded confidence of achieving separate state by mounting continuous pressure on the Central Government.
This decision was taken at a meeting TJAC had with state presidents and key leaders of various national parties like BJP, CPI (ML) New Democracy, CPI, NCP, JD (U), RLD and Forward Bloc. The leaders discussed the latest political situation and the various options that are being speculated in regard to bifurcation of the State. It also decided to conduct a 'People's Court' on June 29 in Hyderabad to hear petitions about government's actions to 'suppress' the Chalo Assembly programme.
Later briefing the media, Prof. Kodandaram said that national presidents of various parties besides intellectuals would take part in a conference in Delhi either on July 4 or 5. Initially, T JAC shortlisted July 1 and 2 for the round-table conference but the dates were changed owing to BJP's state executive meeting at Tirupati. It may be recalled that T JAC conducted Chalo Sansad earlier in April at New Delhi to garner national level support for the cause.
Meanwhile, the TTDP forum convenor E Dayakar Rao said that the TDP was opposed to Rayala Telangana. He said they will not accept anything other than the Telangana that was there before the merger with Andhra. He said the Congress party was deliberately trying to confuse the people and political parties and put the blame on them that they were not willing to accept any proposals to resolve the issue.
The T Congress leaders too are not in a mood to accept the proposal for Rayala Telangana. This was stated by the Minister for Panchayat Raj K Jana Reddy on Wednesday. He told reporters that nothing short of Telangana with Hyderabad as its capital would be acceptable to them.
