Clearing of debris may take one more week
Visakhapatnam: The death toll in the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Visakh Refinery, mishap has risen to 18, with four more workmen succumbing to injuries on Thursday. This was revealed by the company Executive Director V V R Narasimham here. He said that M Malakondaiah, 46, and Manmadha Reddy, 46, both undergoing treatment at Manipal Hospital; Ramana, 40 (Old Care Hospital), and Y V Satya Rao, 27 (New Care Hospital) succumbed to injuries on Thursday.
The ED said that the process of clearing the debris at the mishap site might take another week’s time and reputed burns specialist Dr Keswani, who arrived here on Thursday, visited the injured in various hospitals to assess their health condition and requirements. Narasimham said that presently 18 workmen were undergoing treatment in hospitals in the city.
