Woman Immolates self Along with Daughter
The mother died on the spot while the baby succumbed to injuries en route to Mancherial government hospital.Ragini worked as a teacher in a private school and married Rajender, the school bus driver.
Mancherial: A 27-year-old housewife, Yemurla Ragini, resident of Lakshminagar near CC Karnal area in the town allegedly immolated herself along with her 11-month-old daughter Satwika on Monday.
The mother died on the spot while the baby succumbed to injuries en route to Mancherial government hospital.Ragini worked as a teacher in a private school and married Rajender, the school bus driver.
She had no contacts with any of her relatives since the marriage.Rajender, who had been away when the incident occurred, told the police that he was informed by his brother about the suicide.
However, Ragini’s relatives alleged that it was a pre-planned murder, accusing Rajender of harassing his wife demanding dowry. They demanded strong action against Rajender and his family members.
Mancherial DCP John Wesley said that Ragini’s family is suspected her in-laws’ involvement in the incident, as stated in their complaint. Rajender was taken into custody for questioning and investigation is on.
