Peddapalli: “Make necessary arrangements with music system and lighting facilities along with supplying uninterrupted power supply and drinking water facility for celebrating Bathukamma festival on September 22 at all villages panchayats and on September 24 at mandal parishad offices and on September 27 in the playground of Government Junior College at district headquarters,” District in-charge Collector S Prabhakar Reddy ordered the officials of various departments.

He held a review meeting with the officials of Integrated Child Develop Society (ICDS), MEPMA and IKP along with district officials to discuss the arrangements to be made for celebrating the festival, at the Collectorate here on Wednesday. Reddy told the officials to celebrate the State on a grand note. Prize will be given to the best Bathukamma decoration at district-level.

Speaking on the distribution of Bathukamma sarees, the in-charge Collector ordered the officials to distribute sarees on September 18 and 19 from 9 am to 6 pm. Distribute sarees to the women, who failed to take them on these two days, on September 20.

Take necessary steps for preventing stampede during sarees distribution. Sarpanch must give the first saree at village-level, MPTCs, ZPTCs, MLAs and MLCs along with other important persons must give the first saree at mandal-level, Reddy directed the officials.

He told them to take the signature of the beneficiaries along with their Aadhar numbers for identity proof.
In-charge District Revenue Officer Ashok Kumar, in-charge District and Rural Development Officer Prem Kumar, District Youth Services Officer Rajveeru, District Welfare Officer Padmavathi, Assistant Public Relation Officer V Sridhar, IKP, MEPMA and ICDS staff were present along with others.
