Arya Vysya Sangham demands arrest of Prof Ilaiah
The leaders of district Arya Vysya Mahasabha, Arya Vysya Sangham and its city wing have demanded immediate arrest of renowned political thinker and writer Prof Kancha Ilaiah.
Warangal: The leaders of district Arya Vysya Mahasabha, Arya Vysya Sangham and its city wing have demanded immediate arrest of renowned political thinker and writer Prof Kancha Ilaiah.
The Vysya Sangham conducted a signature campaign in Warangal on Thursday in support of their demand. The campaign was launched by the sangham city president Gunda Prakash Rao and its secretary Vangeti Ashok.
Speaking on the occasion, they demanded the State government ban the book titled ‘Komatollu: Samajika Smugglerlu’(Vysyas are social smugglers), authored by Ilaiah as the book hurt the sentiments of the community.
The author should tender apology to the community publicly. His book was aimed at creating unrest in the society by creating caste-based division. The professorship of the author should also be annulled as he was unfit to be professor, Prakash Rao said.
The government should immediately book criminal cases against Prof Ilaiah and the sangham would continue its protests until the book was banned and the author was arrested, the leaders asserted.
Vysya Mahasabha steering committee convener Dubba Srinivas, leaders Thota Hareesh, Y Prakasham, P Kishore, G Santhosh Kumar, Pokala Chander, Gunda Punnam, and others took part in the campaign.
