Peddapalli : All the eligible people must fully utilise the welfare schemes that were introduced by the State government, urged the District in-charge Collector S Prabhakar Reddy here on Monday.

Participating in the ‘Grievance Redressal Day’ programme along with the officials of various departments at Collectorate in town on Monday, the in-charge Collector said if the social welfare schemes were utilised properly, the lives of the people would improve.

He said that to prevent the manufacturing of gudumba in villages and to provide rehabilitation to the people who stopped the manufacture of gudumba,(country made liquor) the government implemented several schemes successfully in the district.

Stringent action was taken against those involved in the illegal manufacture of gudumba, the Collector added. The Collector instructed the officials of the departments concerned to take necessary steps and ensure that schemes such as Kalyana Lakshmi, Shadi Mubarak, KCR Kit, single women and Aasara pensions and Re. 1 kg rice reach those for whom it was meant for.

The Collector also directed the officials to take steps and ensure that the 30 grievances that were received were redressed as soon as possible.

In-charge Project Director of DRDA Prem Kumar, District Forest Officer Krishnamachary, District Medical and Health Officer Dr. K Pramode Kumar, Additional Director of Animal Husbandry P Rajanna, DEO D Venkateshwar Rao and Additional Director of Mines Department M Baldasu were present along with others.
