Hanamkonda: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu should join the alternative Political Front proposed by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, suggested Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari.

The AP CM should come forward supporting the front so that the issue of Special Status to Andhra Pradesh promised in AP Reorganisation Act and pending for the past four years could be resolved, he said.

Speaking to press persons here on Monday, he said the entire TRS rank and file has welcomed the CM's decision to enter national politics by launching the front. KCR, who led the statehood agitation successfully, would be a perfect leader to direct the course of national politics.

Srihari also appealed all the Telugu people to extend their support to the CM, who he said have a thorough knowledge of national politics. The communists should also standby by Chandrashekar Rao to strengthen the proposed front.

It was a welcome development that the leaders of different political outfits like Mamata Banerjee and others have extended their backing to the alternate political front, which would be exclusive of BJP and Congress.

Though corruption during UPA regime led by Congress was rampant, it was taken to new level by the BJP-led NDA government. The BJP regime at the Centre was letting the corporate forces to loot public money in public sector banks and cross the borders unscathed. There was suspicion that NDA might have a role in PNB scam wherein Nirav Modi fled the country with hundreds of millions of public money. Even as there was a lot of noise over the issue, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi didn’t make a statement till now, Srihari noted.

The Deputy CM stated that during the past four years, the PM did nothing for the growth of the nation and the welfare of its people, except for touring the world, sporting brand new suits all the time. The demonetisation and GST have severely damaged economic status of the country.

In the present day political situation, there is a dire need for an alternate political forum that acts without any affiliation to national parties like Congress and BJP. “KCR is going to be a Telugu leader after late NTR to make it big on national political arena,” Srihari noted.

Referring to a query on the replacement to KCR's position, Srihari said the party leadership would sit together, adding that there is no second position in the party hierarchy. Tribal Welfare Minister A Chandulal, MP P Dayakar, GWMC Mayor N Narender and others were present.
