Peddapalli: District Collector Devasena ordered the officials concerned to check that the various welfare schemes introduced by the State government for the welfare of the working sections, are reaching the real beneficiaries or not.

She held a review meeting with the district officials on the welfare of workers, here at her chamber in the Collectorate on Tuesday. Speaking at the meeting, the Collector said the workers of various sections, in the age group of 18 to 60 years, can enroll their names in ‘Telangana building and other construction workers welfare board’.

They should fill the application form number:28 and attach two passport size photos and Aadhar Xerox copy. Rs 110 fee should be paid for a period of five years, at the time of enrolling their names in ‘Telangana building and other construction workers welfare board’, she explained.

There are many advantages for the workers if they enroll their names in the board. The officials must take necessary steps for enrolling the names of every worker in the board.

The government is going to sanction Rs 30,000 for the wedding of two persons of their family. Workers’ wife and their daughters and woman worker also will be paid Rs 30,000 at the time of pregnancy.

If any worker dies of an accident, the family members will be paid accidental benefit of Rs 6 lakhs and for normal death Rs 60,000 along with Rs 30,000 for conducting final rites, the Collector explained.

She also said that if the worker becomes disabled due to accident, the government will sanction Rs 5 lakhs along with Rs 4,500 for temporary treatment.

Collector Devasena urged the workers to enroll their names in Board and avail the benefits that are provided by the State government.

Assistant Commissioner of Labour Department Neelima, Peddapalli Municipal Commissioner Srinivas, ACP Habeeb Khan, District Labour Officer D Rajalingam, District Panchayat Officer Sudarshan and other officials were present.
