Hanamkonda: Warangal Urban District Collector Amrapali Kata has advised the newly selected agriculture extension officers (AEOs) (grade-II) to be available to farmers at field level. She addressed the extension officers selected through a recent recruitment process by the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC), prior to a counselling session to allot place of posting, at urban collectorate in Hanamkonda on Monday.
The Collector said the State government has been giving priority to agriculture and implementing various welfare measures for the benefit of farming community. She wanted the extension officers to help the farmers to adopt modern farming methods to improve agriculture production.
Similarly, farmers have to be advised on cost effective farming techniques to help them get high yield with minimum expenditure. The newly selected extension officers have to put stay at their place of posting so that they could be able to assist the farmers, Amrapali suggested.
She informed that there were 89 vacancies in Warangal Urban and Rural, Jangaon, Jayashanker Bhupalpally and Mahabubabad districts. The TSPSC through the notification issued in last October selected 84 candidates for appointing them in agriculture department in erstwhile Warangal district.
