Peddapalli: Menstrual hygiene management is very important to ensure that women and girls can manage their periods in a way that is not only healthy, but that enables their full participation in school, work, and other activities, said Dr Sasmita Dash, the CO of Dhanwantari Hospital.

As part of Swachhta Pakhwada, health awareness and menstrual hygiene programme was organised by Dhanwantari Hospital under corporate social responsibility at Dr BR Ambedkar Hall in Peddapalli
on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sasmita Dash said menstruation is one of the vital process of a woman’s body, which deserves utmost caution and self-care. Ensuring proper hygiene during menses and eating right is the key to ease the pain the women go through, she advised. She also explained in detail about the special thrust on menstrual hygiene.

As many as 50 women and girls participated in the awareness programme, where a free blood test was also conducted along with distributing sanitary napkins to all the participants. Hospital staff and CSR officials were present along with others.
