Warangal: The dismantling of a foundation plaque at an Edgah in Warangal on Wednesday has caused mild tension. The incident which took place during evening hours of the day has sparked flash protests by Muslim groups.
It was alleged that some miscreants have broken down a plaque installed for the construction of Edgah Hussaini Alam at Peddammagadda locality under survey number 640 in about 1.36 acres.
The Edgah committee secretary Mohammed Nayeemuddin told press persons that since 12 years Muslims were utilizing the space for their religious purposes. But some persons with vested interests have been creating trouble. He lodged a police complaint with Hanamkonda Police.
Following the complaint, the circle inspector Venkateshwara Babu and sub-inspector Habibuddin rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation. Edgah committee members urged the police to protect the land from the land grabbers.
