Our Bureau shiftWarangal: Marking the 'Foundation Day' of Telugu Desam Party, the district unit of the party has got a new address on Friday. The office currently functioning at Bhavani Nagar in Hanamkonda was shifted to new premises beside Zoological Park on Hunter Road on the day. The party district president A Baswa Reddy, Telangana Telugu Desam Forum convener Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Public Accounts Committee chairman Revuri Prakash Reddy and other senior leaders attended the inauguration programme of the new office. Speaking to the press persons, Errabelli Dayakar Rao stated that the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has got a poor knowledge on Babhali project and its impact on the north Telangana region. He had not seen a Chief Mnister like Kiran Kumar Reddy who lacks knowledge on important irrigation projects in the state. "It took us three long hours to explain the Chief Minister about the impact of Babhali project on Telangana region". "Yet he was not in a position to grasp the issue and is not willing to act," he added. The party leaders sought the government to initiate immediate steps to prevent Maharashtra government from going ahead with Babhali project which deprives numerous Telangana districts of their rightful share of irrigation and drinking water. The party leaders noted that TDP was founded with sole objective of developing the poor and downtrodden. The party created political awareness among the poorer sections of the society, they said. The Congress party took the people for granted and exploited the state for decades. The TDP fought against the Congress regime and its mismanagement. The party also ensured proportionate representation to SC, ST and BCs in politics, the leaders added. The TDP activists across the district have celebrated the event and garlanded the statues of party founder NT Rama Rao and cut cakes marking 32nd anniversary of the party.
