Warangal: 24-Government teachers, who were suspended for abstaining from the poll duties, were reinstated after their ‘satisfactory’ explanation to Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Anjaneyulu and District Education Officer (DEO) Vijay Kumar in Hanamkonda on Thursday.

It may be recalled that these teachers were drafted for the recent Gram Panchayat elections duties. The State Election Commissioner, Ramakanth Reddy observed the unauthorized absence from the duties as serious dereliction of duties on the part of teachers and recommended the district election officials to take appropriate action against them for hurting the poll process.

Subsequent to the orders received from the Election Commissioners, the district officers placed teachers under suspension citing various clauses of the Local bodies election Acts. However, bowing to the pressure from various teachers’ unions, the suspension orders were revoked, paving the way for their reinstatement into the service. Meanwhile, the State Administrative Tribunal directed the Regional Joint Director of School Education Dr R Surender Reddy to recall the Headmaster of Government Markazi High School, Hanamkonda, Devender Reddy.
